The best compliment songwriter and front woman, Leigh Glass, has ever received was when a fan approached her after a show and said, ”Your music makes me wanna go home and make love to my husband.” The bluesy songstress and her band, the Hazards, play their own gutsy, charismatic style of rock and roll. The songs are original and the live show is sweaty, passionate, funny, and engaging.
With deep roots in Western North Carolina – - her family is from Cold Mountain in Haywood County — she proudly notes her musical pedigree. ”My great aunts and uncles and my grandfather were big-time bluegrassers.”
Leigh has shared the stage with acts such as Sheryl Crow, K.D. Lang, ZZ Top, Charlie Pride, Jason Ricci, Jeff Sipe, Chas Sanford, and played the Warren Haynes Christmas Jam in 2012, which included The Avett Brothers, Blind Boys of Alabama, and The Warren Haynes Band. She has recorded with engineer/producer Rich Brotherton (Robert Earl Keen Band), Chip Martin of Nashville, TN, and Kenny Lewis (Hollywood Records, Vassar Clements, Stryper,).
Her 2010 album, The Drone, made the top 20 on WNCW.
